This christmas, Sean gave me a dress form, so that I could explore the idea of making clothes for myself. Well, here's a peek at my first attempt!

Magical Movies

Movies that you can walk out and think..."magical" they are my favorite. Here, I've got pictures from Amelie (favorite movie of all time), The Series of Unfortunate Events, Stranger Than Fiction, and Finding Neverland. I appreciate every little detail that goes into these movies.. the artistic vision, lighting, costumes, imagination.... go rent yourself a magical movie and see what I mean!

Felted Wool Beads

The other night my mom taught me how to make felted wool beads. The wool comes in such bright, fun colors. In the first shot, there are the balls of wool that are loosly wound in a ball shape, ready to get wet and soapy!

The next shot is a close-up of the "before" beads of wound up wool.

The last shot is felted wool beads complete! The wool shrinks and takes shape, and is ready to become a bracelet or whatever you can imagine! Fun! Thanks mom!

Dash & Albert Rugs

I am literally swooning over these rugs today. The colors, textures, and patterns are just.... just... mmmmm. beautiful. swoon. See them here. Or, stop by Victory like I did, on 44th and Beard in Linden Hills.

I love my...

... glass vase/bottle collection. Just in case I have a few flowers that need a home. They have accumulated out in the sun room, on the window ledge, by the frosty windows.

Silver Fusing

This week I learned how to fuse silver, something I've always wanted to know how to do. Sterling silver has some alloys added to it to make it stronger, and therefore won't fuse when melted together. Fine silver (what we were using) is 99.9% silver and will melt together when heated with a blow torch.
